FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from Eastside hot tub owners.

How does pricing work?
Call us and our technician will provide exact pricing based on your hot tub type and your location on the Eastside. The diagnostic fee always applies toward your repair cost if you move forward — fixed quote before any work begins, no hidden fees, no surprises.
Why is Eastside water different for hot tubs?
Cedar River water is very soft — under 50 PPM. Calcium scale that destroys heater elements and jets in Eastern Washington simply doesn't happen here. Every failure on the Eastside is mechanical or electronic — never mineral. This changes the diagnosis approach entirely.
What is the cottonwood problem?
Kirkland, Kenmore, and Bothell's cottonwood trees release seed material every late May through June. It accumulates in filter cartridges, jet bodies, and cabinet vents. A cottonwood-loaded filter can cause FLO errors and heating shutoffs within days of the last cleaning. Check your filter weekly during cottonwood season.
Do you service all hot tub brands?
Yes — Hot Spring, Jacuzzi, Sundance, Caldera, Bullfrog, Master Spa, Marquis, Arctic Spas, and all spas running Balboa or Gecko control systems.
What do you NOT repair?
We repair self-contained hot tub systems only. We don't perform external electrical connections, external plumbing supply lines, or new hot tub installations.
Do you service Mercer Island?
Yes — we cross to Mercer Island via I-90 regularly. No service surcharge for island visits. Mercer Island is one of the highest hot tub density communities in our service area.
How often should I service my hot tub on the Eastside?
We recommend twice-yearly professional maintenance — spring after cottonwood season, and fall before the heavy winter use period.

Hot Spring Heater Repair
Kirkland, WA

Jennifer M.
★★★★★

"My Hot Spring Grandee stopped heating in November — the worst possible time. Cascade Spa Repair came the next morning, diagnosed a failed heating element, had the replacement on the truck. Running perfectly by noon. Fast, professional, exactly what you need when your spa is down in a Pacific Northwest winter."

Balboa Board Replacement
Bellevue, WA

David T.
★★★★★

"Jacuzzi J-465 started showing intermittent errors and eventually stopped running. Cascade Spa Repair diagnosed moisture-damaged control board — said it was common on this vintage with heavy winter use. New board installed, spa running perfectly. They explained exactly what happened and how to prevent recurrence."

Jet Cleaning
Redmond, WA
SK
Sarah K.
★★★★★

"All jets had weakened progressively over two summers. I assumed the pump was going. Cascade Spa Repair pulled the jets, found organic debris accumulation — cottonwood and fir needle material mixed with biological growth. After cleaning, jet pressure is back to what it was when we bought the spa."

"Found water under the spa cabinet. Cascade Spa Repair identified a failing pump mechanical seal — caught it before it became a flood. Quick repair, reasonably priced. They checked the rest of the equipment while in there and told me what else to watch."
